And we are sure that this is far from the limit!

Today we will tell you how to cook an amazing pepper stuffed with cabbage in a marinade. This is a wonderful appetizer, for the preparation of which you just need to stock up on the necessary products, a little time and a desire to please your loved ones with a very tasty meal!

Ingredients for pickled peppers stuffed with cabbage

  • 🥕 Sweet pepper - 5 pcs.
  • 🥕 White cabbage -; 150 g.
  • 🥕Green onion - 1 stalk
  • 🥕Basil - 5 leaves
  • 🥕Olive oil - 25 ml.

For marinade:

  • 🥕White wine - 100 ml.
  • 🥕 Wine vinegar - 50 ml.
  • 🥕Sugar - 50 g.
  • 🥕 Garlic - ½ clove
  • 🥕 Ground cumin - 1 tsp.
  • 🥕Curry powder - 1 tsp.
  • 🥕 Salt - 2 tsp.
  • 🥕 Chili pepper (ground) - on the tip of a knife

How to cook peppers stuffed with cabbage in a marinade

  • Finely chop the cabbage.
  • 🥕 Rinse and dry the basil and green onion stalk well. Cut the onion into rings, chop the basil.
  • 🥕 Wash the bell pepper thoroughly under running water and place on paper towels.
  • 🥕 Place all the ingredients for the marinade in a medium-sized saucepan, mix, put on fire and bring to a boil.
  • 🥕Put the Bulgarian pepper into a saucepan with boiling marinade and simmer over low heat (under the lid) for 4 minutes.
  • 🥕After the time indicated above, use a slotted spoon to remove the bell pepper from the marinade and put it on a plate to cool.
  • 🥕Next, put the chopped cabbage into the boiling marinade and cook it for 30 seconds.
  • 🥕Remove the pot with cabbage from the heat. Let it brew for 3 minutes. Throw the cabbage on a sieve set over the pan (the marinade can still come in handy!) And cool.
  • 🥕When the cabbage has completely cooled, put it in a separate container, add olive oil, green onions, basil and mix.
  • 🥕 Gently peel the bell peppers from the stalks and seeds, then stuff with pickled cabbage.

Those who prefer strongly spicy snacks can be advised to add a little more (to your taste) amount of ground chili to the marinade than suggested in this recipe. You can also put a little fresh hot pepper in the marinade or directly in the cabbage filling, after chopping it with a knife or passing it through a press.

In order to make your appetizer look brighter and more appetizing, it is advisable to take peppers of different colors (red, green, yellow, orange), and you can add a small amount of grated carrots to the filling. For example, for 5 servings of a dish (as in this recipe), you will need one medium-sized carrot.

The marinade that remains after cooking should not be poured out. In it, you can perfectly store the peppers left after the meal (although, of course, it is unlikely that anything will remain - because they are very tasty and disappear from the table instantly). Another option - you can prepare peppers for the future, increasing the number of servings by 2-3 times, pour them with marinade and refrigerate. Infused in a fragrant, spicy liquid, vegetables will be even tastier!

Peppers stuffed with cabbage in marinade can be served as an independent snack or as a side dish for various meat and fish dishes. In addition, this dish is perfect for a lean or vegetarian menu.
